Hancock Pass Hike Photo One
Hancock Pass is a Four Wheel Drive Trail We Hiked completely by accident, as we started for Williams Pass, we took a left when instead of going straight. It turned out to be an awesome six mile out and back experience. Our adventure starts up Chalk Creek just outside the town of Nathrop, Colorado heading up CR-162 toward St. Elmo and hanging a left at FS-295 to the ghost town of Hancock. All that’s left here is part of the old saloon building and the trail head for Williams Pass, Tunnel Lake, Alpine Tunnel, all connecting with the Colorado Trail and Continental Divide Trail.
