Trail of Highways ™, Highway 86 Past Bracket Creek
Further along Hwy 86 passing Bridger Bowl, This is such a beautiful Hwy. MT 86 travels through mountainous terrain. Coniferous trees line either side of the road’s right-of-way. It passes the Bridger Bowl Ski Area, which lies to the west. Shortly thereafter, it meets Brackett Creek Road, which roughly marks the halfway point of the route. The forest surrounding the highway yields to grassland and the terrain levels somewhat as the road turns to the north-northeast near Sedan.
I love the back roads of America, out of the way places, some long forgotten.
On maps before GPS they were called blue highways, rural America. Blue Highways
bring history vibrating on the wind, as the sands of time are washing it away. Out here “every
moment is a destination.”
Take the time to detour the resort and rediscover. Listen to the vibration of the their voices,
stories of another time, voices of children and old men, talking tales. Also stop and listen to
the stillness deep within.
