Four Mile Trail, Weminuche Wilderness
Falls Creek Waterfalls
6.13.2015
To reach the trail head you drive on FS 645, there are several sequences to this adventure and will be posted here in order.
On this day we drove up beautiful CR 400 to FS 645 to Four Mile Trailhead. On CR 400 this our third trip, we are always amazed at the herds of elk we see on this drive Today was no different with a herd of 30 cows and calves off in the distance. We sat on the side of the road with our TRUGLO binoculars watch for quite a bit, while the calves ran and jumped playing with each other.
A few more miles up the road we reached the fork of FS 645 to the right and drove 4.5 miles to the parking lot for Four Mile Trailhead.
Once at the trailhead we made lunch and pack our packs for the three mile hike to Falls Creek Waterfalls. Due the looming storm clouds we opted not to hike the extra mile to Four Mile Falls, save that for a different day.
On the way out we got hailed on and the lighting was something to behold.
This hike is in the Weminuche Wilderness Area.
We are camping at The Mountain Landing Suites and RV Park in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, a beautiful high valley.
