Train Cars coffee will be a regular stop on all trip through Nederland.  If you have the time and wish for a awesome drive to Indian Peaks Wilderness, Wild Basin, or Beaver Meadows entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.  

I am not sure which blend I drank and didn’t ask, we got two cups of coffee with the mention of a free refill, we headed out the door to wander around Nederland according to what attracted too.

After visiting what drew our attention and the coffee was very low, we headed back to Train Cars Coffee.

Refilled our cups and picked up a dozen mini donuts covered in cinnamon sugar.

Train Cars Coffee roast six different blends.  We spent an hour reading history and exploring the different cars.  A great place to stretch the legs and spend some time.  The staff is very friendly and fun to spend some time arounds.   

I don’t say that because I have a fascination with trains.

The Caboose always one of my favorite train cars.  This particular caboose is the last of the all wooden curved roof models, ending an era in quality design. This caboose was created in 1910, for the Colorado and Southern Railroad, it was car number 242 in the line.  Accidents followed its career, with mishaps in Larkspur in 1920, rebuilt in 1921, than in 1965 it met a flood in the rice yard, finally finding home in Nederland.  When in operation it bunked eight men, coal box, stove, a desk, lockers and a cooler.  The caboose weight in at 37,800 pounds.

The Circus Car, being built in 1872 by the union Pacific Railroad, it ran the rails on the Pacific Denver and Gulf Railroad. This is one of the standard gauge cars of its time, original and never refitted with steel.

Pullman Car was created for the Colorado and Southern Railroad spent its track time with them exclusively as car number 544 in 1905, and one of the last wooden plush coaches.
