Mid-January snowshoeing hike to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. A very scenic hike, with Panoramic views as you zig zag through the forest on the trail.
Be Prepared for a Great Trip Hiking to Emerald Lake
Hike in to Emerald Lake and out is three and half miles. On this trip there was over four feet of snow, temperature for a high twenty seven, fifteen when we got on the trail. I have done this hike Spring, Summer and Fall, sun, wind, hard driving rain and it’s always so unique the way the light changes at this altitude. Mostly due the fact I was prepared, dress correcting and the right extra gear in the pack. I plan most trips even baking some my snacks for the trip. I like to eat moving up or down the trail.
